Today, Sunday, most of Brussel's stores and shops are closed. Not wanting to waste my day doing laundry, I proposed that we read the day away at the Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée, open on Sundays. We reconnected with some childhood cartoon heroes.
We cut through Rue des Bouchers to get to our tram stop. This street is lined with "tourist trap" restaurants. At every place, waiters would beckon and call out that the "little one" could eat for free. Edouard's size can be deceiving - he's four but he eats for six. He is known to polish off a Big Mac, fries and drink. Mom still can't get through a Happy Meal. Hubby suggests that we let the little one eat "for free" while we order water...we stop for waffles instead, twice.
