The first, and I do mean the first sunny weekend since April had the family scrambling for the beach. We were expecting hours of traffic in Nieuwport's direction but menacing clouds kept most away. We easily found parking and a picnic spot close to the water. The rising tide and billions of sand spiders hide me packing and repacking our lunch. The water was cold. The only bathers were children. Edouard and Charlotte splashed around for hours.
The drive back was quiet. We got home just in time to avoid the rain...
